As this is the first meeting back in person please read through this email and respond if you plan on attending. The meeting will be held outdoors in Evan’s backyard (come through the gate on the South side of the house near the swingset / park on 65th between Independence St and Independence Court). Please bring your own glassware. Starsan will be on hand if needed to clean/sanitize anything.

 

If members have felt sick or have had a temperature at any point in the days leading up to the meeting please do not plan on attending. If members have health concerns regarding exposure to others please do not plan on attending. If you feel the need to bring a mask, hand sanitizer or other items for comfort of crowds please feel free to do so. Due to the limitations of the outdoor area, 6 foot distancing will be hard to navigate especially because it is at a residence and the tables are typical bar top long tables like SPE. If other concerns you might have are not addressed in this email please send the questions along so that we can have the best meeting possible.

 

If you can attend this meeting please RSVP to this email. If you RSVP yes, please do your best to attend or update the club so others that want to attend can do so. When the 10 member limit is reached we will update with a reply from this email thread with the list of attendees. As Gordon and Evan are both already planning to attend this meeting we now have 8 seats open. It does suck that we have to go on like this at the moment but we are trying to remain compliant with health regulations and best practices. We can all remain hopeful that sooner than later we will be able to move onto normal club meetings at SomePlace Else.

Frolic Brewing – Keg Fills $55

Ryan asked to pass this on. 
Can you share this? Pretty damn good deal. A usual solid 5 gallon keg of beer from a brewery is like $80-90 it seems.

Frolic Brewing, up in Broomfield/Westminster, where the KROC club meets, is selling 5 gallon kegs of everything except RIS/Barleywine for $55 (15.5g for $140). They're quite fresh too (I picked up a 12 day old pilsner keg today). Chris, is a vet and the owner, and he wants to break into the keg selling market since COVID has disrupted the tap room sales, so he's selling them as cheap as he possibly can while still making some money. They make solid beer that club members would enjoy, they have several IPAs, a nice hefe, the pilsner, a blood orange ipa, seltzers and more. Just ask for Chris when you're there, he'll give you a full list of what is available.

They're sanke, but if you need a converter, he'll sell you a stainless one at cost. I got one today for my ball lock keg. Their pizzas are good too. Pepperoni/mushroom, extra crispy!

Hope everyone is hanging in there, I miss the meetings, hopefully sooner than later.

OTMP – March Meeting Update!

After discussion with some key members of the club it has been decided that the best course of action if to suspend meetings at the moment. As we all understand the importance of good beer in our lives, we also know we enjoy our home made malty and hoppy beverages are best when shared with friends. This is what makes our club exciting and special is the group and the dynamics of members. Our social platform is also a very potentially risky scenario for many in our club. 
More information will come as time clocks on and notifications will be conveyed. While some of us face new challenges regarding preparedness for staying at home with our families and not having enough beer to make it through. This might also be a good time to look forward to new projects and our next brew sessions.
We are fortunate enough to still have a completely sterile environment for the club over on the forums. We have picked up some traction lately as now email notifications for new threads are pushed to all registered members. This has been and will continue to be a great place to keep the conversation going and to share the hobby we have all come to love.
I am sure members will still have their own meetups and interactions during this time. It can be nice the share these beer moments with the rest of the club to keep the brewing moral high and the future continuing to look bright.

February Meeting Recap:

Beers:
  • Sam – SMASH Beer – Pils / Galaxy, 7%. Brewed on Chicho yeast. Boasting a huge piney nose and grapefruit on the palate with a dry finish and wrapped up in a pale color. 
  • Mick – Partial mash brew ringing in at 5.8% with Chinook, Cascade and EKG; a very malty brew with chocolate and smoke malt highlights. 
  • Evan – English Brown – 4.7%, a sweet and rich brew. 
  • Chris – Dunkle – Munich , 2-row and chocolare malts. A "Nice Beer!", with a feature of malty richness and fermented on Wyeast #2206 and ringing in at 5.7%
  • Voss – Maibock, dubbed the Yapping Dog, started at 1.082 and finished at 1.010, brewed in November. Notable apricot nose, a pale yellow/ golden color. 8%
  • Cody – golden Ale – A very effervescent brew with a pale color, 6%. 
  • Clay – Irish Stout – Made with Marris Otter, Barley, Roast Barley, 4.1%. Nice highlights from the galena hops with a plesent bitterness and great mouthfeel. 
  • Chris – Chocolate Milk Stout – 5.3% Brewed in August 2019, same beer from previous months. 
  • Nicholas – Chocolate Mint Stout – 4.5% brew fermented on WLP004. Made with 2-row, barley, carafa III, C40, and Celestial Seasonings Peppermint tea. Dubbed the "Dirty girl Scout" and comments of "It is thin mints!" were made, Gordon was even able to taste the mint, a very unique brew. 
  • Sam – Chocolate Cherry Stout – Brewed with 3 oz of chocolate powder, 3 oz chocolate extract, 18 oz cherry concentrate, 10 oz of vanilla, pale malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, carafa III, Dexedrine, victory, special b, oats, magnum, el dorado, and fermented on Chico yeast. Nice balanced flavor and a treat for the taste buds.
  • Voss – The "Mystery Dean" – A bottle from the depths of a house that once was Deans, Special B and Oats were perceived.  Only to be followed up by "Mystery Dean II" next month. 
  • Colter – Colter's best friends, aunt's cousin from next door twice removed – Cider. A nice orange blossom flavor that was slightly tart and clean finish. Then Cider #2 featured blackberry and a delicious flavor. 
  • Ryan – Imperial Stout – "As Rich as Bezos!" or "Cheesecake Halo" was named by members of the club; this full flavor brew was a hit because it was amazingly smooth. 
  • Nick – Kiwi IPA – 6.5% – Brewed with 2-row, C40, Carapils, with an OG of 1.063 and finishing at 1.013. Hopped with Pacific Jade and Magnum. This beer featured a nice orange, mandarin and fruit loops flavors.  
  • Clay – IPA – At 8.2% this brew featured Galena and Citra hops. This yellow/copper/orange brew highlighted some great hops flavors on a present grain background.

January Meeting Recap:

What we learned:
      • Ryan is capable of producing beer that doesn't touch a cask.
      • The club reserves the right to rename your beer during a meeting without your input. 🙂
      • Beer passing dies in front of Jim, so stay vigilant!
      • Gordon will continue to fish out his antique "collection" for us to dabble in
      • 20 beers (well, 19 and 1 port) in a night is a lot, but well appreciated
      • We need to discuss at our next meeting what month we want to do the next "competition" and what style.  It was floated with good interest of us all agreeing on the exact same grain bill, but then people choose their own hops, yeast, mash, and fermentation elements.  No adjuncts.  To see how just your process can really influence the final beer.
      • It didn't have the pizzazz of Evan, but at least Chris didn't fuck the meeting up.
    • Bob Z also shared his information on sanitizing solutions which can be read in this email thread
Beers:
  • Ryan – Dunkel – Yes, you are reading this correctly.  Ryan…our Ryan had the first and lightest beer of the meeting.  Some said it couldn't be done, by here we are!  Great malty sweetness and very light.  Slightly low carb, but we'll give him a pass because he poured it from his new keg system and he's still a keg system newb!  Easy Drinking.
  • Colter – 'Merican Brown Ale – Lovely chocolate taste on the back end with a sweet finish.  Smelt of caramel, Mmmmm.  He used "a Fuck load" of crystal.
  • Chris – Merican IPA – Good malty body, Typical soft citrus grapefruit aroma.  Citra, Simcoe, Cascade hop arrangement and WLP001 (CA Ale).  Loved by all, hated by none. Rick asked and has received recipe.
  • Aaron – Weeeeeeeeee Heavy – Very light (nearly too light for style).  Not much aroma. Ryan asked if this was second runnings….you know, like the dick he is, haha! Very "poundable" at 5%, then it was asked when 5% all of a sudden became session beer, lol!  Clean and refreshing.
  • Chris – Chocolate Milk Stout – Roasty Chocolate aroma with a desired sweetness.  Had a great body and gave us a good head, you know…like…ok, we'll stop there. Someone noted "warms my cockles".
  • Dennis – Sweet Stout – No chocolate, but a very solid milk stout.  Great head retention and flavor.  It was asked if he considered it to be some sort of old fashion elixir since he brought it in large medicine bottles.  Just what the doctor ordered!
  • Nicholas – Oaked Bourbon Stout – Very creamy with a vanilla taste that turned into a marshmallow element.  Great contribution from the newbie!
  • Jim S. – Winter Ale – Winterfest was enjoyed by all. "F'ing delicious" was shouted somewhere. Perfect spice balance…unlike that Breckenridge, dump your spice rack into the beer. winter ale.  Since he used all English ingredients, the club has renamed the beer "Boris' Brexit Beer".  Relabel accordingly, Jim.
  • Dennis – Winter Ale – Light and refreshing with some lovely English Esters.  Very well done beer.  Couldn't get more information since he was on the opposite end and head of the table taking on court.
  • Jim S. – Old Ale – A beautiful toffee and raisin aroma, everything I love about this style. Sweet malty taste.  I also overheard Ryan mentioning to Colter "This would be a gread podcast beer".  Jim has kindly shared the recipe with Chris, who had planned on brewing this style shortly.
  • Gordon – Porter – it's anyone's guess as to what kind of porter because, in perfect Gordon fashion, this beer was one he didn't know he still had from 1988.  Yes, before some of our members were even born!  Unfortunately, there was zero carbonation, shocking from a 32 years old beer…  Little was known about the beer, but had quite the boosey smell and a tad bitter.
  • Mick – Smoked Porter – Low smoke, which is better than way too much smoke. 5.6% brewed with Chinook and Willamette. WY1098 British Ale Yeast.  Well balanced and enjoyable.
  • Rick – Mystery Belgian – we figured had to be single or triple based on color in bottle. THAR SHE BLOWS!  Gusher time. Rick's unsure what went wrong because this has been aging quite a while.  After she settled down it still had a nice taste…although a little yeasty, but that'll happen with a gusher.
  • Andrew – Belgian Dark Strong Ale – THAR SHE BLOWS!  2 gushers back to back.  After this one calmed down, it had a very comparable taste to Chimay Blue label.  Still needs to age.  Slight hint of rum. Voss did a great job of keeping the gusher at bay with this thumb, while also periodically misting Ryan with beer mist.  I think there was a lost opportunity for some sort of facial misting cream commercial.
  • This is where the meeting started to stray.  Evidently gushing beer makes people scramble.  This got people on their feet and allowed them to wonder.  Beers were harder to make the rounds, especially when they got to Jim and they just sat there while he regaled people with his brewing stories.
  • Nicholas – Pumpkin Ale – only 1-12oz bottle, so small sip pours were a must.  Low aroma and very sweet.  We don't think the yeast fully attenuated.
  • Nicholas – Imperial Pumpkin Ale – 7.6% and a much bigger pumpkin character than the prior beer.  Smells of cloves, all spice, nutmeg and a hint of cinnamon. He confirmed these were all used, so good on our noses!  Except Gordon. 🙂
  • Ryan – Bourbon Barrel Aged Belgian Quad – As per typical Ryan fashion, big, tasty and boosey. Lovely dark plumb and cherry notes.  Good and spicy with a lovely rich finish.
  • Ryan – Vanilla Rye Imperial Stout – Thick big body.  Talk about a beer you can chew. Notes of vanilla bean and chocolate.
  • Jeff – Old Bruin – Finally it was Jeff's turn. Lovely belgian brown sour.  Pleasant aroma that takes you back to that old belgian farm….you know…where we all grew up drinking beer for lunch.  A great balance of flavor with that hint of soury notes.
  • Nicholas – Blueberry Port Wine – Blueberry wine fortified with Brandy.  BIG blueberry flavor and quite the nail in the coffin to the night.

OTMP – January Meeting 1/15 – December Meeting Recap

Next Meeting:
As the new year marches in many of us may have beer resolutions to make for ourselves. They might be; brewing more batches, brewing more consistently great beer, or trying out some things we have had on the back burner for some time now. Some of us have DIY projects in the works that need completing this year or some of us may have much more simple goals like brewing a new style we enjoy. No matter if you have been in the homebrewing game for many years or decades; or if you are still dialing in your processes we all have room to grow and learn in this hobby. 

Based on the last meeting some great conversation came up that was noteworthy. It seems even some of the more experienced brewers in our club do not deviate from their standard brew day schedules to test new theories out or to try new procedures. Some items that are worth looking into this year if you have never tried them:
  • Krausening a beer
  • Lagering a beer 
  • Brew an ice distilled beer
  • Brewing a raw ale 
  • Barrel aging a beer
  • Do a kettle soured beer
  • Try doing a no chill brew day
  • Designing a beer label for your brews
  • Trying a new spice, fruit, or ingredient in your beer
  • Performing a decoction mash
  • Building a water profile from RO water 
  • Fining beer for clarity
  • Brewing a mead or a cider
  • Stir plating up yeast 
  • Brewing a zero IBU IPA  
  • Toasting your own grains
  • Brewing beer in outer space for an ultra low oxygenation environment

December Meeting Recap:

A huge thank you to Jim Spaulding for hosting all of us at his beer barn for the December meeting. It was quite nice to have a different venu for us to share our beers and celebrate the end of the year.

Beers:
  • Chris – ESB – This malty brew came in balanced and finished with a slight tangy end on it. 
  • Cody – Belgian Golden Ale – 10% – This bubbly and aromatic beer was bottle conditioned and brewed in August. Brewed with Pils malt and fermented on Wyerman 1388 yeast it had a sweet and delicious quality to it. 
  • Jim S. – Strong Golden – This pale yellow brew had a nice fruit and funk quality to it. 
  • Colter – American Brown – This roasty 6% brew was made all from malt that he acquired at the swap meet meeting. Brewed on US-06 this beer was smooth. 
  • Mick – Nut Brown – 5% – This "Samuel Smiths" style brew was done in a partial mash with Maris Otter, Chocolate malt, C60, and Munich 30. Fermented on WY1098. This beer featured a chocolate profile that was roasty as well as a but nutty. 
  • Andrew – Pirate Strong Beer – With an ABV of "Fuck I don't know" this beer had a sweet molasses profile to it with an infusion of toffee, malt, salt and as noted "Rum and Raisin, that is all I can small off this beer" 
  • Jim S. – Wee Heavy – At 9.1% This highly carbonated beer you could taste the age on it and the buckets of caramel and toffee qualities. At 2 years old this brew seems to have hit its stride. 
  • Bob Z. – Baltic Porter – This dark brew offered a great nose and rang in at 8%, Brewed on Salale-05. 
  • Jay – American Stout – At 8% this mildly roasty and chocolate brew was low carbonated and a touch thin. This brew was an attempt at an Deschutes Obsidian clone. 
  • Evan + Jeff – Barrel Aged Milk Stout – at somewhere north of 11% this milk stout has some age on it as it was brewed in November 2017. This sweet and bourbon infused brew offered complex qualities that some even defined as a subtle mint quality. Other noted "I dig this beer". 
  • Bob A. – Honey Badger IPA – at 6.3% this beer dont give a fuck. Featuring Mosaic hops and  Chinook hops from Voss for the aroma this beer was clean and tasty with no apologies. 
  • Jim S. – English IPA – This pale yellow colored brew featured EKG and Fuggles whole hops and finished crisp and clean. 
  • Bob Z. – IPA – Nice clean and malty profile with a deep bittering hop and backbone to it; with hints of sweetness and apricot flavor. 
  • Ryan – American IPA – This was the "kitchen sink" of brews, utilizing nearly everything laying around this house that needed to go. This straw colored beer featured a punch of hop flavor using everything from Columbus, Eureka, to some  Odd 13 strange hops that were gifted to him. There was even a hit of pineapple perceived in this brew.  
  • Ryan – Rye Imperial Stout – At 14% this brew featured flavors like marshmellow, coconut, chocolate, vanilla, a a touch or spicy rye. As noted "It's like a party in my mouth and everyone is invited" 
  • Ryan – Port Stout – same as last months notes, I didn't write anything down for this beer. 
  • Gordon – Sinister Minister – A Belgian Dark Strong beer made by Arvada Brewing Company, for those of who do not remember or have not lived in Colorado this long this is the location that OTMP used to gather at before their closing at the end of 2015. So, somehow Gordon kept this growler in the back of his fridge either waiting for the apocalypse or this December's meeting to crack it open, well I guess the December 2019 meeting took place first. This growler was full of sludge at the bottom of it and featured a generally flat beer that was extraordinarily sweet and malty. Photo below:

OTMP – December Meeting 12/18 – November Meeting Recap


Next Meeting:
Tis' the season for sharing brews with family, friends and those you are close with. It is now we begin to wonder what breweries have a delightful seasonal brew on tap and what 6-pack is worth while to pick up for the holiday parties. What winter warmer are you sipping on during these snowy nights? What is hidden away in the cellar of your spidery basement that is prime to come out and sip on? Cool it down, pack it up and bring it out to the last meeting of the year.

Bulk Grain Buy:
If members are interested in bulk buys of base malt please make note on this sheet. Quirky homebrew has offered Colorado's Proximity 2-row malt at less than $47 for a 50 lb. sack for a group buy, value depending on volume. At the meeting others has interest in asking about other malts that we might be able to get deals on (Rahr 2-row, Marris Otter, Thomas Fawcett, ???,….). Enlist your interest here and we will see what we can do for a club buy
Club Highlight:
Colter sat down with Evan recently and discussed all things Olde Town Mash Paddlers in his podcast Homebrewing DIY. It highlights some of the special things about this club and even some shoutouts to people in the club and some of the amazing things that we have going on here. Well worth a listen. 
ISpindel DIY Project:

Members of the club interested in building the iSpindel project will need to make payment in advance of $25. All cash will be collected cash at the next meeting or prior to December 31st. Parts will need to be paid for prior to the orders. 
If you are unsure about what this project entails please check out the previous emails regarding this topic. TLDR; iSpindel is a digital hydrometer that is designed to be DIY and home soldered by the end user; it can record your fermentation gravities to an online source like google sheets. A day to complete the build will be sponsored by the club, member will be assisted in completing the build at this time if needed. This might not be for the faint of heart as far as DIY projects are concerned, this will take a tinkerer. 
Payments can also be made to Evan at any time prior to the 31st of December (please make sure I know you paid if the email is different):

Belgian beer theory – Even Belgian Beers are dark and odd beers are light, oddity or is there a science to all of this. Might be the haze. 

Beers:
  • Sam – English Brown – 1050 – Nice toasty chocolaty and roasty profile, low hop profile, with a taste that lingers on the tongue. 
  • Evan – English Brown Beer – 5.3% – Nice fruity nose and a roasty profile. 
  • Chris – ESB – 5.7% –  A nice toffee nose – Brewed on 60°, 80°, 2-row, with EKG + Fuggles. "A Flullers quality balanced bitterness"  as well as a clean copper color and a clean finish. 
  • Mick – Stout – " Like a Beamish" was noted. Nice aroma. Brewed with Challenger, EKG, Hersbrucker hops and brewed on WY968. A dark nice head to the brew and with a dry finish. 
  • Nate –  Coffee Oatmeal Stout – Made with cold brewed coffee that was added in the keg. Strong coffee nose aand a roasty clean profile. Nice brew. 
  • Jim S. –
    •  Single – Gold Color, fruity nose, bubbly mouthfeel. 
    • Double – Somehow we don't know how to open corks or how to take notes after bottles are opened. 
    • Triple – Big nose Dry finish, and spicy, nearly a year old. 
  • Bob A. – Belgian Tripel – This straw colored 9% beer proved to be slightly sour with a cellar like quality, a fruity nose, and a nice mellow finish. 
  • Robin – Fresh Hop Beer – (same as last month) – Mellow hop profile in comparison to last month. Much improved quality and profile. 
  • Cody – New England IPA – (same as last month) Same delicious mouth feel with a floral, tropical tastes to accompany the malty profile. 
  • Ryan / Voss – Rye Barrel Aged Porter – Big matly, rye and balanced quality with a dry finish and a residual mouth feel and taste that lingered in an amazing way. 
  • Ryan – Cherry Port Wine Stout – 8.7% – Cherries and Stout infused into this insane tornado of flavor. No tornadoes harmed anyone in this tasting. 
  • Ryan – Banana Boat Stout of Love – So Many% like apes don't have this many fingers – "Like a chocolate banana milkshake, baby" as quotes by a rather indulgent individual.

Next Meeting:
As the cold nights and short days are ahead of us as we enter this Autumn season that is quickly looking like Winter around here; we might stop and reflect and ask ourselves, "What the hell should I brew next?". In this reflection, some of us seek out seasonal ingredients, as we see in a cup of mass-marketed Starbucks coffee, or others of us might be looking for savory ingredients reminiscent of a Thanksgiving meal; and the traditionalist in us might just be looking for a dark, roasty, and malty brew to keep us warm while we cozy up with some streaming internet vids to keep us company with our brew and self pitty. 'Tis the season to celebrate with friends and good homebrew. Cozy up with the club this next meeting and share your latest brews and totally inappropriate jokes and wisecracks. 

GABF Highlight:
A highlight of mine, thanks, guys! The Jameson castmates section was my major highlight of the day. Sorry, I didn't see some of you guys and sorry I couldn't keep up with some of you guys. I will never complain about GABF 2019! Crowd surf GABF! Thanks to Mike Tyler for keeping my fat ass off the ground.

ISpindel / Colter's Podcast:

Colter has started his own podcast Homebrewing DIY. He currently has 610 episodes out, his shows don't cover ingredients or recipes but rather the entire art that surrounds the homebrewing community which is DIY and all the shapes that can come in. It is well worth checking out. 

In a recent episode, he covers the iSpindel with one of the creators, Dave Osadchy. They dive into how the product works and how it came to be. The interesting part is how this is strictly a DIY project as you cannot buy these assembled. 


As a club, we checked if people had an interest in building one of their own. The idea is this; as a club, we can make a group buy on parts to save cash on the cost. The Ispindel is unique as it is basically a tilt hydrometer but cannot be sold in the US as it infringes on US patent law; it uses Wifi to give readings on the gravity of your beer/fermentation and the data can be written to an online document or some brewing software interfaces with it. It is a fairly handy tool as you can get readings without opening the vessel. 

The plan is we would then set a date to have a build day. We would together then construct, solder, and burn the shit out of our fingers till we have them all built. People that don't show would be given their bag of parts and sent on the road to tackling this on their own.

The list of people interested (please add or delete your name as you wish, read/write access is given to viewers). We will review this list at the next meeting and make a cutoff for orders and figure out funding options. At the moment we would be looking at a potential January/February/March build date as the slow boat from China might take a moment to get here with these high-quality parts. In the end, we would be hoping for a club full of users of Ispindel users that can extrapolate the best use cases on how to use these devices.

October Meeting Recap: 

Attendants:

Cody, Evan, Chris, Rick, Sam, Bob, Robin, Mike, Mick, Gordon, Voss, and Eric; hopefully all humans were accounted for.  

Meeting Recap:

Some great conversation this meeting and amazing beer conversation by all. This was a small meeting in comparison over the last few years. We had time to taste and re-taste beers and have some conversations. 

Beers:
  • Evan – Kolsch – 4.8% – Crisp, malty, straw-colored beer. Extremely smooth. Described by some as not a Kolsch thus lacking some of the traditional Kolsch qualities given by the yeast. A clean Pils style beer. 
  • Rick – Czech Pilsner – 5.5% – A tasty and smooth brew. Brewed in April of 2019 and lagered for months. This brew was clean and clear with a balanced malt to hop profile. Nice work on this long term investment! 
  • Robin – Session IPA – Brewed on Cascade and Chinook (homegrown). With Pilsen golden light malt and aromatic malts. A big nose on this beer and a nice clean bitterness. A perceived sweetness and question about the alcohol content. It was determined that this might not be as low alcohol as determined based on the OG and FG reported. A great conversation continued on how to determine these factors and how to dial these elements. Homie, you need a refractometer, I will try to bring you one. 
  • Cody: NEIPA – 2 weeks in the bottle – Brewed on Amarillo, Moasic, Idaho 7, Citrus and Laurel Hops. Dry-hopped with Cryo Hops. As quoted by members a member of the club "This one will get you in the cockles!"; interpreted as this beer has a ton of spirit and soul. Nice work on this ale Cody! 
  • Mick – English Brown / Light Brown – The consensus was this was a soured beer. 🤔 Sorry, Mick.  
  • Bob A. – 7% American Stout – Brewed on Oak with Columbus, Willamette, and on Belgian Abby yeast this young beer at 6 weeks old proved to be a bold young character waiting to get some age in the bottle to be sampled again. Bring it back Bob! Such a non-racist punch to this beer! How does a Bob do it!?!?   
  • Chris – Belgian Double – Made with 2-row, Marris Otter, Turbinado, Caravinne, Aeromatic, and Special B and hoped with EKG, Hershbrucker, Goldings, Toppenish, this high gravity brew was fermented on MangoveJacks Yeast @  7.5%. Tasting notes of; Very fruity, quite grainy flavor profile, great beer, and club award-winning were all mentioned. 
  • Eric – Belgian Quad – 10+% Huge rain quality/stone fruit, Big bubbly quality, A blackened fig quality. This beer has grown and improved from the last time it was tested at our "Get wasted in July Fiesta, Belgian Beer Competition", Eric placed last in the category, not to point out flaws but more-so to point out age has value. This beer has come into its own. A mature flavor and developed profile have shown up in the months that have passed. This is a case study in how the older you get the better you are, take note of young beers. 
  • Gordon – No one knows what the fuck this beer is – Not even Gordon – This has become some sort of secret society with what Gordon brings. It might be from some frightening Epistein cellar he has in his basement – or it could be from some New Fangled brewery from upstate New York or New Arvada or New Haven Connecticut. Anyhow this beer is seeming like Barleywine and old. The mass consensus is that this beer is "Fucking delicious" and "sweet like the devil's candy". Others noted that this is a beer that needs "a pairing of a black and blue- cheeseburger". This has to be a first of discussing a comparison to blue-cheese. 
  • Chris – Cherry Mead – A one-year-old –  maraschino cherries and sweet, a nice cherry taste and profile like fresh cherries. Nice work, complex and involved tastes.
