Fermenter Deal on Craigs List

I thought I would post this in case anyone is interested. It looks like a brewery in RINO is liquidating some 14 Gal SS Brewtech Unitanks. The unitank allows you to carb right in the fermenter.

I know these are expensive but retail they are like $1400. I would buy one but I just don’t do 10 gallon batches and these do not scale down well.

They also have 2 glucol chillers for sale.

Great find, looks like a hell of a deal.

Same deal with me, I mostly do 5 gallon batches.

I wonder if the seller is the brewery that moved into Beryls old place on Blake. Would make sense since they likely inherited a lot of equipment, some of which they might not need.

Great find Chuck. I’m tempted and would REALLY like to find a glycol chiller, but working from home and not knowing what the future will bring financially, I don’t think I would feel comfortable springing for any of this stuff right now. VERY nice looking equipment however!

Jim, I hear you. It gets to be a conundrum when you can brew beer in a $15 brew bucket to think of spending that type of money on a fermenter. But the other way I look at it is I do not really have other hobbies that take a lot of money – skiing and bbqing. I have friends that collect cars, have boats, etc. Heck, I don’t even have a mistress.

That is how I rationalize spending a little extra on my brew hobby. Like my wife says – if it makes you happy don’t worry about it.

I saw that the other day and tried to decide if it was worth it. I lost a whole batch on Saturday when a glass carboy was released from its brew hauler and went crashing all over the patio. Decided then and there Id use some stimulus cash to improve my fermentation equipment and stumbled on these. I decided that it’s way out of my league. If I were to get one, I’d need one of you to come show me how to use it. Though if anyone else has any fermenters that they aren’t using and are willing to part with, I’m in the market. I’ll stick with Ale Pails and Corny kegs in the meantime.
