I’m circling back on the subject of collecting clear wort, post boil. Last season I (sort of) found a work around, but it was costing me a gallon or two of wort with each brew, which means significantly less bier in the end (UNACCEPTABLE!). Enter the Hopstopper XL 2.0 (see pic). Supposedly you can begin runoff from the kettle straight away, without waiting for the wort to settle/clear. This would be ideal since the added time in trying to whirlpool or settle the wort has affected the hop character in the finished product. Something I can adjust for more easily (and less of a concern) for my lagers, but certainly this has been an issue for my English-style brews, especially my East India Ale. I’ve been here before with promises from the manufacturer though, but at least this product can supposedly be returned for a full refund if I’m dissatisfied. Has anyone had any experience with this thing?
