ParticipantLet’s see, bottled it yesterday, so in a couple weeks I think we can get a first taste. See if it’s worth the extra effort or not.

ParticipantThat’s a good yeast for a Dubbel. Not sure it will be dark enough tho. Will be interesting to see how this one turns out.

ParticipantAnd Colter, to answer your question… supposedly it’s the actual carmelizing (boiling to the Candi stage) that develops those flavors.
Spauld
ParticipantOk, thanks for the heads up on the video. See PDF document instead

ParticipantOh man….this is the kind of thing that turns me off about American beer culture π. ……I also wondered if it was a joke.

ParticipantI probably need to add an Irish Red to my line up. For me I’d like it to be ‘traditional’, but what does that mean and what Irish examples are out there? Would love to sample yours…and I recall a couple of others recently brewed by members that I also liked.

ParticipantYes… EARLY! Mine are already coming up.

ParticipantWow, I like that color! π

Participant…..and when are U going to visit the Bier Barn again Colter?!

ParticipantYeah, I agree. The Tank 7 tasted like a domestic IPA. The Funkwerks was surprisingly one dimensional for a label that boasts it’s GABF medals π. About half of each of those bottles went down the drain. …life is too short to drink crappy beer!
Spauld
ParticipantThis was a short one Colter, just 6 hrs.
